World of Warcraft: MLG Dallas Wrap Up

By: Marc Turner - Published October 07, 2008 at 10:41 AM EDT - Writer Archive
The finals stop on the MLG PC Circuit and the playoffs for the MLG Pro Circuit have concluded.
Dallas, Texas became the center of eSports this past weekend as Major League Gaming came to town with a vengeance. The final stop of the year for the PC Circuit and World of Warcraft, as well as the playoffs for the league's console based Pro Circuit, provided spectators and players alike with non-stop action from start to finish.

The final stop for the 2008 MLG PC Circuit saw a repeat performance from what many will now consider the best World of Warcraft team in the world. The team formerly known as Orz once again bested all on the way to winning another $12,000 and three more HP Blackbird 002's valued at $3,000 each.

As Team Orz, Rumay "Hafu" Wang, Andrew "Rhaegyn" Miller and Alexander "glickzz" Haderski placed 1st at MLG Orlando and did not let down as the favorites coming into this tournament. Although Gravitas had sent fnatic to the lower bracket, they were not able to get it done against the charismatic Hafu and crew. Pandemic and Got Game West also made it to double elimination play on Sunday, fought valiantly, and took 3rd and 4th place respectively.

1st Place: fnatic/orz - $12,000 & 3 HP Blackbird Gaming PC’s valued at $3,000 each.
2nd Place: Gravitas Gaming- $6,000
3rd Place: Pandemic - $3,000
4th Place: Got Game West - $1,500

The tournament served as playoffs for the upcoming 2008 MLG Pro Circuit Championship Finals in Las Vegas, November 22nd-24th.
