Fnatic takes home their first win of the day against Made in Taiwan at Blizzcon 08 in Los Angeles, California. ![]() Los Angeles, CA - The first match opened up here at Blizzcon at one o’clock in the afternoon. The tournament broadcasters, 2gd and Vhell, open up the tournament with a thorough explanation of the tournament rules and the teams themselves. Similar to the previous MLG event in Dallas, they did add a time limit to the matches at a strict 20 minutes. The prizes for the tournament are $75,000 for first, $30,000 for second and $15,000 for third. The first match of the day began with Fnatic.orz vs Made in Taiwan. The game kicked off on Ruins of Lordareon with Fnatic running their usual Warrior, Warlock and Druid vs. MIT’s interesting line-up of Rogue, Hunter and Discipline priest. MIT came out with a lot of pressure running two physical DPS. Hafu did not have anywhere to run and was quickly taken down; the first map went to MIT. Map two was played on Blade’s Edge arena where Hafu and Glickz were able to take advantage of LoS. MIT put early pressure onto Glickz and he quickly jumped off followed by Hafu where they are able to pick him up. They wait for Bestial Wrath to fade and quickly dispatch Mmo, the rogue for MIT. ![]() Map three featured the same compositions as the previous maps but was played in Nagrand arena. Mmo got a sap onto Rhaegyn which he immediately berserker raged out of and popped Mmo out of stealth. Fnatic puts early damage onto MIT’s rogue forcing the pain suppression. MIT swaps to Hafu and Mmo chases her down with sprint to get the killing blow. The score is two MIT and one Fnatic.orz. Map four is played on Blade’s Edge arena with the teams not changing comps yet again. MIT puts a lot of pressure out early on and gets Hafu low but she is able to get the nature’s swiftness off. As Hafu picked her health up, Glickz and Rhaegyn immediately jump onto Mmo and drop him quickly. The score is tied up at two and the pressure is on for both teams. As map five loads up into Nagrand arena, the roar of the crowd builds up as everyone is talking about the new comps for both teams. Fnatic.orz is running warrior, retribution paladin and druid versus MIT’s warrior, priest and druid. The match goes on pretty long with Hafu managing her mana well. Mmo intercepts to Hafu throughout the match but with help from her teammates, she is able to escape each time. MIT begins feeling the pressure as both their healers are nearly out of mana. As MIT’s druid attempts to get a drink off, their priest is finally put down and with it Fnatic.orz takes the win over Made in Taiwan.
