Jordan 'Happyminti' Mance gives us his thoughts as GGE claims a 3-0 victory vs Evil Geniuses. ![]() GotFrag speaks with Jordan 'Happyminti' Mance from Got Game East at the ESL Extreme Masters Global Challenge in Montreal, Canada. Happyminti, walk us through the maps you played against EG. Tell us the key points of the matches and the comps you guys used against them. Well, basically we decided to run 3 DPS against them after the success we had yesterday with it. Initially we were planning to run Sodah as resto, but we were afraid they would pull out a boomkin and destroy us. So instead we decided to pull out 3DPS. After the first game when our Druid did 34,000+ damage and I pulled a total of 5,000, we realized that there was virtually no reason to change comps. We feel bad because we are great friends with EG and it is lame that we win not from skill, but simply because this patch is outrageous and a circus, but we obviously need to play the best comp that gives us the best chance, even if it is not very fair. Look at Pandemic Blue for example, Kintt is on a Paladin for his first time ever basically and we lost to them 2-3. That just goes to show how wild this patch is. As you were queueing, you had a big smiles on your faces, saying about something being so OP'd. Tell me about it if you can. Boomkins are simply ridiculous and currently Starfall is bugged so it knocks everyone on their team nearby out of stealth and has an extremely high chance to stun. If Sodah presses Starfall he is pretty much guaranteed 10k damage that game for a single global. Meanwhile he can still freecast, drop treants which do absurd damage. Our damage each game; I was the lowest damage (Rogue in PvE gear = lowest damage?) and Sodah was almost always higher than Venruki. It is unhealable damage pretty much. ![]() Jordan 'Happyminti' Mance Tell us how your group is going. Has the patch really affected the gameplay for the comps used by the top teams? We had a really bumpy start, but that can probably be most attributed to the fact that one, we played poorly (no vent, and it was so loud here that we could not even hear each other scream), and two, we did not try Boomkin before then. This patch is really a "circus" at the moment. There is no real balance. It's interesting, but everyone feels guilty for laming other teams. It's not about who is best (although WLD dominated PvP wasn't either), it's about who can win the meta game the best and cheese the other team. This is not Wow in its finest hour, although it is probably perhaps one of the most entertaining moments. At this rate, what are your chances and what are you banking on to advance to the bracket here in Montreal? Despite the fact that we are 2-2 I think we have a 100% chance to advance because our two losses were 2-3 so we have the best possible 2-2 record and there is no way the rest of the teams could all go 3-1. Any shoutouts you guys would like to give? GotGame, QC, Affix, whoever designed Boomkins, and Kara!
