GotFrag caught up with former Pandemic member David "sck" Quick to chat about himself and some hot issues in the WoW community. ![]() Could you please introduce yourself and give the readers an idea of who you are? Hi, my name is David "sck" Quick, I play a paladin as my primary class in-game and have been playing it since release. Who are you planning to compete with on the WoW tournament server and what lineup(s) are you looking to run? I plan on playing with my current team, SK, on the tournament realm. Our team's main lineup currently is Hunter/Death Knight/Holy Paladin. Why will you not be competing with team Pandemic? Without going into too much detail, my contract expired with Pandemic at the start of 09' and I was looking to get back into the tournament scene now that my class is actually playable after such a long period of time of it being horrible. I would like to say however, that I am still great friends with my former teammates and there is absolutely no bad blood there. Do you think blizzard is making the right decision on hosting a tournament server this early after WOTLK release, even though many say the game is not yet balanced enough? Blizzard has stated many times in the past that players and organizations are simply going to have to adapt to the ever changing game that is WoW when it comes to tournament play. That said, I don't think it's bad that tournaments are happening this early into the expansion. If we all sat around waiting for the game to be perfectly balanced for tournament play, there would be no tournaments. Can you see any surprise lineups in this tournament that some might not expect, other than the usual DK/Paladin/etc lineups? I don't know if any teams will run it, but I think resto shaman/rogue/moonkin is a pretty scary comp to face in general. Do you see a bright future for WoW Arena, with the tournament realm coming out soon and the MLG announcing they are bringing back the PC circuit? Things look good for now, I'm glad to see events popping up yes. Who knows how long it will last honestly.. I'd really like to see a pro-mod of some sort being developed for tournament play though, or at the very least a tournament realm up permanently. The game desperately needs a place for people to actively practice different classes/comps without having to put months of time into characters. You are known as one of the better Paladins in the world with your success, with that said, are you happy with how well Paladins can perform in WOTLK or would you like to see some big changes? I'm happy that I can actually play the game now, yeah. I really like the way paladin plays currently, having that mobility we desperately needed is super nice now. Aside from possibly lowering the +spell power benefit sacred shield gains slightly, I don't see any major changes the class needs. Do you play any other games frequently other than WoW lately and if so, which ones? I play Left 4 Dead pretty often, that game is a blast with friends. Thank you again for your time, look forward on seeing how well you do in the upcoming tournament. Is t here any shutouts you would like to make? Shoutouts to SK, all the CLC guys, and all the people I play with on Tichondrius for being awesome practice partners!
