The anticipation leading up to the debut of the Major League Gaming 2009 PC Circuit here in Columbus was finally met when the eight invited teams battled out the first four matches of the tournament.

Fnatic takes its first loss in the 2009 season against Complexity 3-0 in the first match of the MLG Columbus tournament. Running Rogue / Warlock / Shaman tested Hafu's Shaman skills, something that she picked up over the off season. She has her work cut out for her though if Fnfatic want to make it into the bracket portion of the tournament.

Kollektiv, on the other hand, proved just how good he was at the Shaman class and Team EG defeated Gravitas Gaming (as predicted by EG's Warlock Isaac) 3-0. In the third and final game Gravitas switched in Didy for Celex to play the powerful paladin but RNG went in the favor of EG as they were able to seal the match.

The third match of the tournament proved to be the best one yet, although both teams made several mistakes. Kintt's inexperience as druid however showed to be the game breaker and SK would win 3-2 after being down two matches against Pandemic.

The last and probably most anticipated match of the first day ended in a surprise shutout when eMg 3-0'ed the powerhouse European Rogue / Mage / Priest that is Ensidia. Many believed that the Europeans could stop the burst from eMg's Death Knight / Hunter / Paladin, but eMg had other plans. Three games in a row they would kill the most famous priest in the world Hydra without any opposition.

These four games showed a glimpse of the upcoming action on Saturday and Sunday. Tomorrow the matches will start back up again bright and early at 10 p.m. EST with the stream going live at 9 p.m. EST. Make sure to check back in tomorrow as the action continues.
