On his way to Anaheim, Azael is bringing a whole new Team EG to the WoW scene. ![]() Location: Kingston, Ontario, Canada Age: 21 Battlegroup/Realm: Bloodlust / Blackrock Rating: 2832 Favored Class: Warlock Favored team comp: Rogue / Warlock / Shaman There has been much question about roster changes for EG at Anaheim. Who will represent the team and, how and why were those changes made? EG|Azael: The team will be represented by myself, Tenderloin, and Smatin, and we'll be playing the Rogue / Warlock / Shaman setup. These changes were made for a variety of reasons all of which I won't get into, but my former teammates were taking somewhat of a step back from competitive PvP, focusing on other things and I just felt that these new players would be a better fit for the team. Who is the captain/leader of this team? EG|Azael: I am currently the captain of Team EG. Who scouted and recruited new players for EG? What criteria was used when searching for a new player? Were you looking to keep the same comp and pick up a specific class or were you open to different comps? EG|Azael: The scouting / recruiting was done by myself for the most part, I had help from other friends in the competitive PvP scene who were playing with different rogues such as Uckington though (thanks!). When looking for new players I was looking for a variety of things, but for the most part I was looking for people with a positive upbeat attitude who were already at the top of their class and looking for ways to further improve both individually and as a team. I was also looking for people with clean play, because it's a lot easier to change a strategy than it is to improve someones situational awareness or overall playstyle. As for as what setups I was looking for, I was mainly looking for a rogue, although I did briefly consider trying out some different setups there were only a few players I would've been willing to try out, and they were not available. How do you feel about your chances of placing high at Anaheim? EG|Azael: We have done well against almost all the North American teams that will be attending Anaheim, and I feel confident going into the event. RLS is unfortunately somewhat of a tier 2 setup right now though, so it will be a very difficult road ahead, but I know that if we play as well as we have been online against these teams that we'll be in every match and I would expect us to place well. Are there any teams or comps that you look forward to facing or don't look forward to facing at Anaheim? What new comps, if any outside of RMP, do you feel will be viable at Anaheim? EG|Azael: Every single match will be extremely tough, there are zero free wins in this tournament so there's no one team or setup that I'm specifically looking forward to playing against. I would say I'm equally excited to play every team but also aware that any mistake can cost us the match so we really will have to be on top of our game. Anaheim will definitely showcase two of the strongest setups the game has to offer at the moment, Beastcleave and Shadowcleave so it won't just be RMP, there are also two of the games strongest RLS teams attending so it should offer some solid variety and I would say that all of the setups are definitely viable and could go far in the tournament. As far as which is the most viable, most people would consider Beastcleave to have the best chances of winning simply because it is a counter to a lot of the setups which will be attending. Do you practice specifically for going against certain comps or do you strictly practice your game plan the same for all comps? EG|Azael: We definitely do a lot of practice for different comps, and also for different teams running the same setup because the strategy required can vary greatly from team to team and you have to be prepared for whatever they're going to throw at you.
