The kick off of the first tournament day is only hours away and while it's a round robin tournament, the outcome of the first matches is immensely important for the outcome of the entire tournament. ![]() And the answer isn’t so easy this time around. In fact it was so hard, I for myself decided to let this weekend do whatever it wants with me. I'm it's toy and it should use me, as I fully expect we will have lots of fun times together on whichever path it will take me. I took the time and tried to talk to as many participating players as I could and the only thing I can safely conclude after these insightful conversations is: The level of confidence is unusually high and rightfully so. Looking back to MLG Dallas, we had many games coming down to a 3-2 and I expect no different from Anaheim. Highlight Match of Friday Night Looking at the schedule for today, I believe that the match that is standing out is SK.EU vs Complexity. SK.EU, the only European team at the tournament, awaits a wall of “bring it on” which was not only summoned by the community but also has been provoked by themselves by stating on numerous occasions that the American scene lacks quality. I have my sincerest doubt that Inflame’s preventative “This is WoW, anything can happen” will be a sufficient excuse, especially if we see them in trouble against Complexity as everyone expects them to perform well against RMP. It is in fact time to nut up, or shut up. There could’ve been better opponents for SK.EU’s first match at a tournament. If they don’t beat an RMP on the first day, it will probably stop their momentum before it has even started. With two other RMPs to go, they are in for a rough night reviewing their strategy as the other RMPs will just mimic Complexity in the event that their plan proves to be successful. It would be a true challenge for SK.EU as a team and a more than just a bunch of thrown together top players would suddenly be needed. Moreover, with Complexity BHMS - the wild card winners - playing the same class composition as SK.EU, and the insider information floating around that Complexity’s main team have a solid win ratio against Shadow cleave on TR, surely SK.EU would’ve been better off with a match against a mirror or RLS on the first day and both Complexity teams fighting it out before they meet the RMP. Surely not a considerable disadvantage for a team, that demands nothing but a first place of themselves – To be the best, you have to beat the rest – or is it? Will SK.EU choke or will they put their mouth where their money is? Am I a jumping jack or a teddybear and did Keith Trahan finally grow? Tune in tonight and find out at the MLG PC circuit live from the Anaheim convention center. SK.EU vs. Complexity
