After a 6-4 in the grand finals Button Bashers takes home the fire birds. ![]() After playing an amazing loser bracket final against Check Six which they won 3-0, the new roster under the SK flag was reaching for the stars. The pressure was huge which is not the best thing for your team, especially if you have a player that has never attended a LAN tournament in his life. The games were intense and one of them even came down to a 2v2 which resulted in a draw. They ate RMPs earlier in the tournament, namely Complexity and SK.US, but Button Bashers isn't a normal meal. They are like monkeys. If you reach out with your hand to stab them they will run up your arm and slap you in the face. They are flexible, coordinated, they play the finesse game unlike any other RMP you have seen before. Brute force one target zerging SK.US was yesterday. This is the new Korean age. I would be surprised if one team came out and said they weren't absolutely amazed by Button Bashers overall performance. Sure they had a bad match here and there. If you come from another continent you have to adapt to the play style other people throw at you. Button Bashers was able to adapt as they impressively showed in the second series against Check Six. They have innovative strategies and gear choices, always thinking outside the box. All in all I think everyone can agree that this team deserved it. Everyone was talking about RMP being a second tier comp, I don't exclude myself here. I just didn't know that was humanly possible. The tournament showed that you need more than a strong comp to win it all. You simply can not argue that Beast Cleave doesn't hard counter RMP. The outcome of this tournament was important for WoW as an e-sport. A shout out to all the nay-sayers who claim WoW is not a skill game. You've just been proven wrong. WoW is not only a game in which you need individual skill but also incredible team synergy. One might argue that Another blaming his Druid at his first offline tournament made the difference. I just watched the first couple of seconds after BB realized they won this and I can't get enough of it. Orangemarmalade hugs Hiren, the Rogue who helped them become a top tier team again, and high five'd Numberone, the schizophrenic Priest who doesn't know that he plays a healing class, dishing out silly amounts of damage. You know what they did right after congratulating themselves? They went on their Korean fan sites to get in contact with their fans. After they were done with that they approached SK.EU to shake hands with them. This is what WoW needs, that is what makes it such a great game. The social aspect. While I think SK.EU played amazing especially on Sunday, I hope they learned their lesson. You can't talk yourself into being a champion, but you can work yourself up there.
